Satarash is a spicy specialty from the Balkans. It goes quickly and is inexpensive. And you don’t necessarily need to make vegetables separately for this recipe, as the vegetable content is quite high.
The ingredients for 2 people:
200-250 g pork cutlet or shredded meat works as well
3 large onions
2 peppers green and red
1 tablespoon oil
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 pressed garlic clove
4 tbsp. cream or Cremefine
4 tbsp. broth or water
salt, pepper, sweet paprika
Put the cutlets in the freezer for 15-30 minutes so that they freeze slightly (cutting into strips is easier this way), then cut into thin strips. Halve the onion and cut into slices.
Remove the seeds and stems from the peppers, wash, drain and also cut into thin strips.
Now heat the oil in a high pan and the wok, and stir-fry the vegetables for 3-5 minutes. Then add the meat and fry for about 3 minutes as well.
Now add the tomato paste and sauté, then add the garlic, the cream and the broth or water. Bring everything to a simmer and season with salt, pepper and sweet paprika.
If you want the dish to be more sweet, add a little cream. If the whole thing needs to be more bound, simply sprinkle a tablespoon of flour over the dish before adding the tomato paste.
For more spice you can also use rose paprika or like a mild chili powder.
Serve the meal as soon, otherwise the meat will be tough. Serve it with Konjac Rice or Noodles.
