Yeast Dumpling (Mehlpüüt)

30 grams Yeast,
18oz. Milk,
26 ½ oz. Flour,
3 Eggs,

Warm up the milk. Mix the yeast, 1 teaspoon sugar, and 4 tablespoons milk together. Then stir all this with the warm milk, flour, eggs, 1 teaspoon shortening, and a little salt into a dough. Stir the dough real well, cover the bowl, place it in a warm area, and let it rise. After about a couple of hours, take the dough out of the bowl, and form a solid ball. Take a steamer and fill in about 1 inch of water. Put the ball in a clean kitchen towel and lay it in the steamer.

The towel may not touch the bottom of the steamer, in fact, it should be placed about 1-2 inches above the water. Put a lid on top to hold the towel in place. Bring it to a boil and let it steam for about 45 minutes. Make sure that the water will not totally evaporate. To this I suggest canned pears, melted butter, sugar, milk sauce, or anything sweet you like.
